iXCells Biotechnologies provides high quality Human Brachiocephalic Artery Smooth Muscle Cells (HBcASMC), which are isolated from normal human brachiocephalic artery and cryopreserved at P2, with >0.5 million cells in each vial. HBcASMC provide a useful in vitro system to study all aspects of cardiovascular function and disease, especially those related to mechanisms of hyperplasia and hypertrophy of intimal smooth muscle cells leading to vascular occlusion in atherosclerosis and stent restenosis. These cells are positive for smooth muscle cell specific alpha-actin expression and negative for HIV-1, HBV, HCV, mycoplasma, bacteria, yeast, and fung. HBcASMC can further expand for 13 population doublings in Smooth Muscle Cell Growth Medium (Cat# MD-0034) under the condition suggested by iXCells Biotechnologies.
