iXCells Biotechnologies provides high quality Human Coronary Artery Smooth Muscle Cells (HCASMC), which are isolated from human coronary artery tunica intima and media and cryopreserved at P1, with >0.5 million cells in each vial. HCASMC provide an excellent model system to study all aspects of cardiovascular function and disease, especially those related to mechanisms of hyperplasia and hypertrophy of intimal smooth muscle cells leading to vascular occlusion in atherosclerosis and stent restenosis. HCASMC express α-smooth muscle actin and desmin and are negative for HIV-1, HBV, HCV, mycoplasma, bacteria, yeast, and fung. HCASMC can further expand for 12 population doublings in Smooth Muscle Cell Growth Medium (Cat# MD-0034) under the condition suggested by iXCells Biotechnologies.
