Product Description
iXCells Biotechnologies provides high quality Human Carotid Artery Smooth Muscle Cells (HCtASMC), which are isolated from human carotid artery and cryopreserved at P1, with >0.5 million cells in each vial. HCtASMC provide a useful in vitro system to study all aspects of cardiovascular function and disease, especially those related to mechanisms of hyperplasia and hypertrophy of intimal smooth muscle cells leading to vascular occlusion in atherosclerosis and stent restenosis. HCtASMC express α-smooth muscle actin and desmin and are negative for HIV-1, HBV, HCV, mycoplasma, bacteria, yeast, and fung. HCtASMC can further expand for 14 population doublings in Smooth Muscle Cell Growth Medium (Cat# MD-0034) under the condition suggested by iXCells Biotechnologies.
